Dr. Mathews is a neurologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy. 

Dr. Mathews served on the faculty in the Department of Neurology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine from 2003 to 2010. His research focused on the basic physiology and pharmacology of inhibition in the brain with funding from NINDS and CURE. He has been published extensively in scientific and medical journals and has held leadership positions in the American Epilepsy Society.  

In his current practice, located adjacent to Holy Cross Hospital, he offers his patients all the possible options for treatment in epilepsy. He has been on the Active Staff of Holy Cross Hospital since 2010. Also, he serves as the Medical Director of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and the Electroencephalography Laboratory at Holy Cross Hospital. Dr. Mathews joined Comprehensive Neurology Services in 2017.
